Roborock vs ECOVACS vs Dreame in Australia: Which Brand to Buy (2026)

Table of Contents

3 brands, 6 machines compared

Roborock vs ECOVACS, or Roborock vs Dreame: most comparisons that come up first are American or British, and argue about which picks up more sand. For an Australian buyer the bigger difference is in the paperwork: which models get the longer Australian warranty, which company you claim against, and the catch in each policy. Here are all three brands on their published Australian terms, then six machines on published specs.

The short answer

If warranty length decides it, Dreame gives its current flagships 36 months in Australia, the longest of the three. The Dreame X50 Ultra is on that list by name and also climbs the highest step here, but read the catch below about where you buy it.

For a house with rugs and carpet through the bedrooms, Roborock is the most consistent: 24 months on 25 named models, a named Australian company to claim against, and the Qrevo Edge 2 Pro takes its mops off before it touches carpet.

ECOVACS has the roller mop the other two don’t match in this line-up, on the DEEBOT T90 Omni. As published, though, the T90 sits on ECOVACS’ standard 1 year, not the 2 or 2.5 years some older ECOVACS models carry.

All three brands exclude consumables such as mop pads, filters, the main brush and the side brush. The pages every entry comes from are listed under Where the data comes from at the foot of this guide.

Three catches worth knowing before you choose a brand

The newest machine can carry the shortest cover. ECOVACS lists its longer warranties by model family, and neither the T90 Omni nor the X12S OmniCyclone is on the 2-year or 2.5-year list, so both sit on 1 year as published. Roborock’s 24-month list names 25 models but not the new Qrevo Edge 3 Pro, which leaves it on 12 months. Dreame is the exception here: its X60 Ultra is on the 36-month list. The lists may simply be lagging behind the launches. If a longer term matters to you, ask the brand in writing before you buy, and keep the reply.

Dreame’s policy is written around its own store. Its Australian warranty covers products “purchased from www.dreame.com.au”. Section 9.1 lists machines not bought there as a case for fee-based repair, and section 12 says an authorised distributor’s customers get after-sales service from that distributor. If you buy through a button on this page, you are not buying from dreame.com.au, so check the seller shown on the listing and ask them what warranty they honour.

Roborock makes you pay the freight. Its Australian terms put shipping, insurance and transport costs on you when you claim, and exclude “battery health degraded overtime” as well as damage from insects and small animals inside the machine. Dreame pays the shipping on a defect return or replacement in the first 30 days for a machine bought from its own store, but its policy doesn’t say who pays freight on a warranty repair after that. ECOVACS says shipping and handling may be charged.

Roborock, ECOVACS and Dreame figures come from each brand’s Australian product page, except where noted. The T90 Omni’s 15mm lift is from the specification table on ECOVACS’ Australian page. The Dreame L50 Ultra CE has no page on Dreame’s Australian store, so its figures are from its listing. Heights and climbing figures are the brands’ own and aren’t measured the same way, so treat a few millimetres either way as a draw. Any price on a button is the store’s price at the time shown, and the listing always has the current one.

How the three brands differ in practice

Carpet: three answers to a wet mop

This is where the brands most clearly go their own way. Both Roborocks here can take their mop pads off and vacuum the carpet without them, and Roborock say the Qrevo Edge 2 Pro’s chassis raises itself to keep suction on carpet up to 3cm deep. ECOVACS puts a long roller mop on the T90 Omni and lifts it 15mm when it finds carpet. Dreame does both on the X50 Ultra and L50 Ultra CE: it lifts the mops 10.5mm for short-pile rugs, or leaves them behind for thicker carpet.

A lift is fine for a flat-weave runner. On a shag rug in the lounge, a mop that leaves the machine altogether is the safer bet, and two of the three brands offer that in this line-up.

Getting under the couch

Roborock’s two are the slimmest here, both 79.8mm. The T50 Omni is 81mm. The Dreame X50 Ultra gets down to 89mm by retracting its navigation sensor, and the T90 Omni is the tallest at 95mm. If your couch or bed base sits 85 to 90mm off the floor, measure it before you choose.

Door tracks and the step into the laundry

A lot of Australian houses have a raised sliding-door track or a small step down into a tiled laundry or a sunken lounge. Dreame publish the biggest figure: the X50 Ultra climbs obstacles up to 6cm where there’s a gap of more than 4cm between steps, or 4.2cm as a single step. Roborock quote 4cm for a double-layer threshold on both of theirs. The T90 Omni handles a single 2.4cm step, or 4cm in continuous stages.

Who you claim against

Roborock and Dreame both name the Australian company behind the warranty. ECOVACS’ Australian warranty page names no local company and points you to a global contact page to find your service centre. That doesn’t make ECOVACS’ cover weaker. It does mean you’ll do a little more digging if something goes wrong.

The machines

Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Pro robot vacuum and mop beside its self-emptying dock
CARPET AND RUGS

Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Pro

  • 24 months in Australia
  • 25,000Pa suction
  • 79.8mm tall

The Qrevo Edge 2 Pro is the Roborock to buy if your house mixes hard floors and carpet. It detaches its mops automatically so they never reach the carpet, and its chassis raises itself to keep suction on carpets up to 3cm deep. The dock washes the mops with water at up to 100°C, the hottest of the six here, dries them with 55°C air and dispenses detergent on its own.

It’s also slim at 79.8mm, and Roborock say it crosses a 4cm double-layer threshold, or 3cm as a single step. It’s on Roborock’s 24-month Australian list by name.

What it doesn’t have is the newest badge. Roborock’s newer Qrevo Edge 3 Pro quotes a 36,000Pa motor, but it isn’t on the 24-month list as published, so it sits on 12 months. For most homes the older machine with double the warranty is the better buy.

Who it suits: a brick veneer with tiles through the living areas, a runner in the hall and carpet in the bedrooms.

Do not buy this if you want the latest Roborock hardware. That’s the Edge 3 Pro, on half the warranty.
Pros
  • Mops come off for carpet
  • 100°C mop washing
  • 24 months, named Australian company
Cons
  • You pay the freight on a warranty claim
  • Not the newest Roborock

Australian warranty: 24 months · 360 International Trading Pty Ltd, as published

If the listing behind our button is out of stock, Roborock’s official Australian store also sells it: Roborock Australia’s store.

Roborock Saros 10R robot vacuum and mop
LOW FURNITURE

Roborock Saros 10R

  • 24 months in Australia
  • 22mm mop lift
  • 79.8mm tall

Roborock call the Saros 10R the slimmest Roborock ever, at 7.98cm. It deals with carpet two ways. It can remove its mops before vacuum-only runs and carpet cleaning, once you switch that on in the Roborock app, or it can lift them, and Roborock say they sit up to 22mm off the floor with the chassis raised. The chassis itself lifts 10mm, which Roborock say lets it cross a 4cm double-layer threshold. The dock washes the mops at 80°C and dries them with 55°C air.

Suction is 20,000Pa, less than the Edge 2 Pro, and Roborock say it sees and avoids objects as small as 2cm wide and 2cm tall. That’s useful in a house with kids’ toys or phone cables on the floor.

Be careful with that 22mm figure. It’s measured from the floor with the chassis raised, which isn’t how ECOVACS and Dreame quote their lift heights, so it isn’t directly comparable with the T90’s 15mm or the Dreames’ 10.5mm.

Who it suits: a home with low couches and bed bases, and mostly short-pile rugs.

Do not buy this if you want the most suction Roborock offers in this pair. The Edge 2 Pro has 25,000Pa to this one’s 20,000Pa, and a hotter mop wash.
Pros
  • 24 months in Australia
  • Level slimmest here at 79.8mm
  • Avoids small objects on the floor
Cons
  • Less suction than the Edge 2 Pro
  • Mop removal has to be switched on in the app

If the listing behind our button is out of stock, Roborock’s official Australian store also sells it: Roborock Australia’s store.

ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Omni robot vacuum and mop with its self-emptying station
ROLLER MOP

ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Omni

  • 30,000Pa suction
  • 15mm roller lift
  • 1 year as published

The T90 Omni is why people shortlist ECOVACS. Instead of two spinning pads it has the OZMO ROLLER 3.0, a 27cm roller mop spinning at 200 RPM that the robot washes as it goes through 16 pressurised nozzles. ECOVACS say the dock washes it at 75°C and doesn’t recycle dirty water. The roller reaches 1.5cm past the edge of the body for skirting boards.

It has the highest suction of the six here at 30,000Pa, with 16L/s of airflow, and ECOVACS’ Australian page lists a 15mm automatic mop lift for carpet. It’s also the tallest robot here at 95mm, and it handles a single 2.4cm step.

The catch is the warranty. ECOVACS’ Australian terms give 2.5 years to the X11 family and the X8 PRO OMNI, and 2 years to the T50 family, but the T90 isn’t on either list. As published, it has 1 year. The T90’s listing also says the Australian service centre supports Australian-spec units only, so make sure that’s what you’re buying.

Who it suits: tiled or floorboarded living areas that get mopped often, where the mop matters more than the warranty.

Do not buy this if you want more than a year of manufacturer cover, or your couch sits lower than about 95mm.
Pros
  • 27cm self-washing roller mop
  • 30,000Pa, the highest here
  • Roller reaches 1.5cm past the body
Cons
  • 1 year as published
  • Tallest here at 95mm
  • No Australian company named on the warranty page

Australian warranty: 1 year · ECOVACS, as published (not on the 2 or 2.5-year lists)

ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 Omni slim robot vacuum and mop with its all-in-one station
ECOVACS, LONGER COVER

ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 Omni

  • 2 years in Australia
  • 15,000Pa suction
  • 81mm tall

If you want ECOVACS but not a 1-year warranty, the T50 Omni is the one on the longer list. ECOVACS’ Australian terms give the T50 family 2 years. It’s an older, simpler machine than the T90: 15,000Pa, half the T90’s suction, and ECOVACS’ OZMO Turbo 2.0 dual rotating mop plates rather than a roller.

It’s slim at 81mm because ECOVACS built the LiDAR into the body instead of a turret on top. The dock empties the bin, washes the mops with hot water and dries them with 45°C air.

Two of its figures don’t agree between sources. ECOVACS’ Australian page says the mop lifts up to 9mm, while the comparison chart on its listing says 10mm. The same Australian page gives the mop-wash water as 75°C in one place and 70°C in another. Neither changes much in practice, but we’d rather tell you than pick one.

Who it suits: a unit or townhouse with mostly hard floors and low furniture, where a 2-year warranty beats extra suction.

Do not buy this if you have deep carpet. A 9 or 10mm lift is the lowest here, and the suction is the lowest too.
Pros
  • 2 years in Australia
  • 81mm tall
  • Self-emptying, self-washing dock
Cons
  • Lowest suction and mop lift here
  • No roller mop

Australian warranty: 2 years · ECOVACS, T50 family, as published

Dreame X50 Ultra robot vacuum and mop with its auto-empty base station
LONGEST WARRANTY

Dreame X50 Ultra

  • 36 months on Dreame’s table
  • 20,000Pa suction
  • 6cm climbing

The X50 Ultra is on Dreame’s Australian table at 36 months by name, the longest robot vacuum cover of the three brands. It’s also the best climber here. Dreame’s ProLeap system gets it over obstacles up to 6cm where there’s a gap of more than 4cm between steps, or a 4.2cm single step. That matters in a house with a sunken lounge or a raised door track.

It lifts its mops 10.5mm for short-pile rugs, and Dreame say it detaches them for long-pile bedroom carpet. The dock washes them with water at up to 80°C. Suction is 20,000Pa. To get under furniture it retracts its navigation sensor, which drops the robot from 111mm to 89mm.

Read the store catch before you buy. Dreame’s Australian warranty is written for machines bought from dreame.com.au, and it says an authorised distributor’s customers get after-sales service from that distributor. The button below doesn’t take you to dreame.com.au, so check the seller shown on the listing and ask what warranty they’ll honour.

Who it suits: a split-level or older house with steps, tracks and a mix of rugs, where you want the longest cover.

Do not buy this if you want the full 36 months with no questions. That’s written for purchases from Dreame’s own Australian store.
Pros
  • 36 months on Dreame’s Australian table
  • Climbs up to 6cm
  • Mops lift or stay behind
Cons
  • Warranty wording favours Dreame’s own store
  • 89mm needs the sensor retracted

Australian warranty: 36 months · 3RES COMAS PTY LTD, for purchases from dreame.com.au, as published

Dreame L50 Ultra robot vacuum and mop with its base station
DREAME, MORE SUCTION

Dreame L50 Ultra CE

  • 25,000Pa suction
  • 10.5mm mop lift
  • 80°C mop wash

The L50 Ultra CE has more suction than the X50 Ultra, 25,000Pa, and the same way of dealing with carpet: you choose in the Dreamehome app whether it lifts the mops 10.5mm, removes them, avoids carpet altogether or cleans it intensively. The dock washes the mops at 80°C and Dreame say the bag holds up to 100 days of dust.

It comes with two gaps. It isn’t on Dreame’s Australian store, so every figure here is from its listing, and Dreame publish no height or climbing figure for it there. And Dreame’s warranty table lists the “L50 Ultra” at 36 months without naming the CE version. The names are two letters apart, and on robot vacuums that can mean a different machine. Ask Dreame which term applies before relying on 36 months.

The listing also says the first app connection needs a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, which is worth knowing if your modem only broadcasts a combined network.

Who it suits: a family home with pets and plenty of carpet, where suction matters more than climbing.

Do not buy this if you need to know the warranty term or the robot’s height before you buy. Neither is confirmed for the CE.
Pros
  • 25,000Pa
  • Four carpet strategies, including mop removal
Cons
  • CE version not named on the warranty table
  • No Australian product page from Dreame
  • No height or climbing figure published

Australian warranty: not named as the CE · Dreame lists the L50 Ultra at 36 months, as published

If the listing behind our button shows it out of stock, the X50 Ultra above is the Dreame to choose instead.

Warranty periods are what each manufacturer publishes for Australia. Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply on top of them and are not limited to these periods.

Which brand for which house

Carpet in most rooms: Roborock, and the Qrevo Edge 2 Pro in particular. Mops that come off completely are the simplest answer to wet carpet, and it’s on the 24-month list.

Tiles or floorboards throughout, mopped often: ECOVACS’ T90 Omni, for the roller. Go in knowing it’s on 1 year as published, or take the T50 Omni for 2 years and a simpler mop.

Steps, tracks and a split-level floor plan: the Dreame X50 Ultra, which publishes the biggest climbing figure here and the longest warranty, with the store catch above.

You just want the longest cover in writing: Dreame, bought from Dreame’s own Australian store. That’s the only way the 36 months applies exactly as written.

If none of these fits, the brand matters less than the model. Our robot vacuum and mop guide compares more machines, model by model.

Questions people actually ask

Which is better, Roborock, ECOVACS or Dreame?

None of them wins on everything. On Australian warranty, Dreame gives its current flagships 36 months, Roborock gives 24 months to 25 named models, and ECOVACS gives 1 year to its newest T90 Omni and X12S. On carpet, both Roborocks and both Dreames here can leave their mops behind, while the ECOVACS T90 lifts its roller 15mm. Pick the brand whose strongest model fits your floors.

Is Roborock or ECOVACS better in Australia?

On published Australian terms, Roborock is ahead for most buyers: 24 months on 25 named models and a named Australian company, 360 International Trading Pty Ltd. ECOVACS is ahead on the mop, with the T90 Omni’s 27cm roller, but that machine is on 1 year as published. If you want ECOVACS with a longer warranty, the T50 Omni family has 2 years.

Is Dreame better than Roborock?

Dreame’s Australian warranty is longer on its flagships, 36 months against Roborock’s 24, and the Dreame X50 Ultra publishes the bigger climbing figure, 6cm. Roborock’s two are slimmer at 79.8mm, and its 24-month list is not tied to buying from its own store in the way Dreame’s policy is. Choose Dreame for steps and cover, Roborock for low furniture and carpet.

Are Dreame and Roborock the same company?

They sell and support separately in Australia. Roborock’s Australian warranty is given by 360 International Trading Pty Ltd, and Dreame’s by 3RES COMAS PTY LTD, ABN 91 652 325 196. Their warranty terms, lists and exclusions are different, so treat them as two brands when you compare.

Which robot vacuum brand has the longest warranty in Australia?

Of these three, Dreame: 36 months on the X60 Ultra, X50 Ultra, X40 Ultra, L50 Ultra and other models on its Australian table. ECOVACS’ longest is 2.5 years, on the X11 family, X8 PRO OMNI and older X models. Roborock’s longest is 24 months. Our warranty guide covers more brands.

Is the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 Omni covered for two years in Australia?

Not as published. ECOVACS’ Australian warranty gives 2 years to the T50 family and others, and 2.5 years to the X11 family and others, and the T90 Omni isn’t named on either list, so it falls under the standard 1 year. Ask ECOVACS in writing if you’d like that confirmed for your purchase.

Does buying a Dreame outside Dreame’s own store affect the warranty?

Possibly. Dreame’s Australian policy is written for products bought from www.dreame.com.au, lists other purchases as a case for fee-based repair, and says authorised distributors provide after-sales service to their own customers. Ask the seller what warranty they honour before you buy. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law stay the same wherever you buy.

Does Roborock’s Australian warranty cover the battery?

A faulty battery is a defect like any other part, but Roborock’s Australian terms exclude “battery health degraded overtime”, so normal loss of capacity isn’t covered. They also exclude consumables such as mop cloths, filters and brushes, and damage from insects or small animals inside the machine.
