1. Introduction Welcome to ServiceBot (servicebot.com.au). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Information We Collect As an informational and affiliate directory, we collect minimal personal information. We may collect:
Personal Data: If you contact us through our Contact form or by email, or subscribe to our newsletter, we may collect your name, email address, the contents of your message and any other details you choose to include. Messages sent through the Contact form are stored on our website server, where only our administrators can see them, and are emailed to our inbox so we can reply. We keep them for up to 24 months.
Usage Data: We automatically collect data on how you interact with our website (e.g., IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on the site) using analytics tools like Google Analytics.
3. Bot Finder searches When you use the Bot Finder (the “What type of bot do you need?” search), we record what you type and the answers you choose. We use this to improve our matches and to decide which products and guides to add next.
We record:
the words you search for, including words you type but don’t search
your answers to the Bot Finder questions
which bots we showed you, and which ones you compared or clicked
the type of device you used (phone or computer), the page you were on, and the site that sent you (for example, a search engine)
a random code that links the searches from one browser tab. It is created fresh for each tab and is not connected to your name or any account.
We do not store your IP address with these records. Before a search is saved, we automatically remove email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, card numbers and web links. Please don’t type other personal details, such as your name, into the search box.
Search records are stored on our own website server, can only be seen by our administrators, and are deleted after 24 months. We also send your search words to Google Analytics (shortened, and with the same details removed) and note in Microsoft Clarity that a search took place, to help us understand how the site is used. We do not sell this information.
4. Cookies and Affiliate Tracking ServiceBot uses cookies to improve your experience and to operate our affiliate marketing links.
Affiliate Cookies: When you click a link to a retailer we partner with, through Amazon Associates or affiliate networks such as Impact and Awin, the retailer or network places a tracking cookie on your browser. This tells the retailer that you came from ServiceBot, so we can earn a commission if you buy. We do not receive your name or payment details from these cookies. The retailer’s and the network’s own privacy policies apply to them.
impact.com tag: Our pages load a script from impact.com, an affiliate network we work with. It turns links to our partner brands into tracking links when you click them, and counts how often those links are shown. impact.com may collect technical details such as your browser, device and IP address, and its privacy policy applies to that data.
Managing Cookies: You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, some parts of our site may not function properly.
5. Bot Protection We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the forms on this site from automated abuse. When you submit a form, Turnstile runs a verification check in the background and may collect information about your browser and device to confirm you are a real person. No puzzle or CAPTCHA is shown to you. Cloudflare’s handling of that information is governed by the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
6. Website Analytics and Session Recording We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use this site. Clarity records pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and may capture a replay of your visit. We use this only to find and fix problems with the site, and this data is handled under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
7. Advertising Measurement (Meta Pixel) We use the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, on this site. It tells us when a visitor arrives from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads and when a visitor clicks through to a retailer, so we can measure whether our advertising works. It also lets us show our ads to people who have previously visited this site. Meta may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you view and the links you click, and may store and process that information outside Australia under its own privacy policy. You can control how Meta uses this information for advertising in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, and you can limit it through your browser’s cookie and tracking settings.
8. Third-Party Links Our website contains links to third-party retailers and vendors. Once you click on these links and leave ServiceBot, any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of that third-party website. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the privacy practices of any third-party sites.
