Aiper Pool Cleaners Australia: Which Scuba Should You Buy?

Aiper sell ten cleaning machines on their Australian store, from under $300 to about $4,000. That spread is the problem. The model names don’t track the price, two of the ten can’t be bought from Aiper right now, and the newest flagship costs several times as much as the machine most pools need.
For most Australian in-ground pools the real choice is between two of them, the Scuba S1 and the Scuba X1. This guide compares what each machine is rated for, what it costs at Aiper today, and the Australian warranty on each, including the three 2026 models Aiper haven’t added to their own warranty table yet.
Every spec, price, stock status and warranty period here comes from Aiper’s own Australian store and warranty policy. Aiper change their prices often, so we re-check them every day and the date sits under the table.

Who Aiper actually are
Aiper are known for cordless robotic pool cleaners. No pumps, no chemicals. Their Australian store sells the robots, surface skimmers, a handheld vacuum and a smart garden sprinkler system. Aiper say they are the world’s biggest seller of smart robotic pool cleaners by 2025 unit sales, citing Euromonitor. That’s their claim, footnoted on their own store, and nothing we found contradicts it.
What matters more for an Australian buyer is that Aiper run an Australian store with AUD pricing and publish an Australian warranty table, model by model. That’s not universal in this category.
Aiper models compared, side by side
Aiper quote suction in two units and rarely convert. The X1 is 25,200 litres per hour on its own page and 6,600 gallons per hour in the comparison table on the V3’s page. That’s the same figure, rounded. Everything below is in gallons per hour (GPH) so the models line up.

These are Aiper’s own offers on their Australian store. None needs a code from us. We don’t list coupon codes: Aiper haven’t issued ServiceBot one, and the codes on coupon sites are often expired or belong to another site.

The pick for most pools: Scuba S1
The 2026 S1 closed most of the gap to the X1. It now cleans the waterline, which used to be the main reason to step up to the X1, and for a typical suburban pool it’s the one to buy.
If you’ve seen an Aiper in someone’s pool, it was probably an S1. The 2026 upgrade is a different machine from the one this guide first covered. It now scrubs the waterline as well as the floor and walls, adds a 3-micron MicroMesh filter behind the 180-micron basket, and Aiper now publish its suction, 4,200 GPH.
Runtime is where the sources split. Aiper’s Australian page says up to 240 minutes in Eco mode. The Amazon Australia listing title says 270. Plan on the lower one. Aiper also describe an Eco setting that stays in the water for a week and cleans the floor for 45 minutes every 48 hours, which is handy if you’re away.
At 7.7kg it’s one of the lighter robots in the range, and that matters, because you lift a cordless cleaner out after every charge.

Don’t buy this if your pool is much over 150m² or sits under trees that drop a lot of leaves. The 3.5-litre basket fills sooner than the X1’s 5 litres, and a robot that stops to be emptied mid-clean isn’t saving you much.

Step up for a big pool: Scuba X1
The X1 is the step up, and the numbers show what the step up adds: about 57% more suction than the S1 from four motors, a 5-litre top-load basket against 3.5, and a 200m² rating against 150. It charges on the wireless dock that comes in the box, and Aiper quote 180 minutes a charge, which is less than the S1’s Eco figure, so on a mid-sized pool the S1 can actually run longer.
The X1 loses the app while it’s under water unless you add Aiper’s HydroComm Pro accessory, which gives you status and one-click retrieval mid-clean.

Don’t buy this if your pool is under 150m² with light debris. The S1 covers it for less, and at 11kg the X1 is noticeably heavier to lift out.

If you need less, or something different
The simplest way into cordless and honest about what it gives up. It cleans the floor and nothing else. For a flat-bottomed above-ground pool that’s the right match, and the extra money up the range buys you capability you can’t use. Aiper rate it for pools up to 80m² and 0.5 to 3 metres deep, and say it suits above-ground pools and flat-floored in-ground pools without slopes.

Don’t buy this if you have a deep end, a curved wall, or a waterline tide mark that bothers you. It won’t touch any of them.

The V3 sits in the same price range as the X1 but is built around a camera rather than raw suction. Aiper say its AI vision recognises more than 20 kinds of debris and plans its route around them, and its MicroMesh filter traps particles down to 2 microns. The other published figures are modest next to the X1: up to 4,800 GPH, a 3.5-litre basket, 150m², and 180 minutes a charge (210 in Eco). Aiper describe it as suiting in-ground and above-ground pools, and the Amazon Australia listing says a wireless charging dock is included.
The pitch is fine silt and pollen rather than leaves, so if your pool goes cloudy rather than dirty, this is the one aimed at that.

Don’t buy this if your problem is leaves and grit. The X1 has more suction and a bigger basket in the same price range.
Australian warranty: the V3’s Australian product page says two years from purchase, but the V3 isn’t in Aiper’s Australian warranty table yet. Keep your receipt and a screenshot of that product page.
The two that aren’t pool cleaners
Two products in the range get bought by mistake because they sit in the same catalogue at similar money. Neither replaces a floor cleaner.
A solar skimmer that patrols the surface all day catching leaves before they sink. That last part is the whole argument for it. A leaf caught floating never stains the floor, never breaks down into the sludge that clogs your filter, and never has to be picked up by the robot at all. Under gums or jacarandas it arguably does more useful work than the floor cleaner does.
Aiper’s S2 page quotes up to 12 hours of skimming and a 4-litre basket. The comparison table on the V3 Ultra’s page says 35-plus hours. The two don’t match and Aiper don’t explain the gap. Aiper’s own warranty table lists it as both Surfer S2 and EcoSurfer S2. It’s the same machine.
Aiper Australia price: $599 $699.99
Don’t buy this if you’re expecting it to clean the pool. It doesn’t touch the floor, the walls or the waterline. It’s a companion to a Scuba, not an alternative.

This is a cordless vacuum on an extendable pole. You hold it and you drive it. It’s handy for the places robots skip: steps, the tanning ledge, tight corners, the spot where the dog gets in. At 1,260 GPH it has enough pull for that job. Aiper quote up to 45 minutes a charge, 2.5 hours to recharge, and 3.3kg on a pole that extends to about 2.5 metres.

Don’t buy this if you want to stop cleaning your pool by hand. This is cleaning your pool by hand, with better equipment. If that’s the goal, buy a Scuba.

Four more Scubas sit alongside the machines above. Each one exists for a specific pool, so here is where each fits and what to check before you order.
Scuba S3
Shipping now, no longer on pre-sale. Aiper publish 4,800 GPH, up to 180 minutes standard and 240 in Eco, about 153m² of in-ground pool, and 8.15kg. It cleans floor, walls and waterline and parks itself at the waterline when it’s done, so you’re not fishing it off the bottom. It sits above the S1 on price with a little more suction and much the same rated pool size, so the waterline parking is the main reason to pay the difference.

Scuba V3 Ultra
Aiper’s newest and dearest machine, and the only one at the top of the range you can order from Aiper right now. Two cameras plus ultrasonic sensors, 8,500 GPH across two pumps, and it cleans the floor, walls, waterline and surface, then surfaces by itself for retrieval. Aiper rate it for about 360m², bigger than any other Scuba. At 13.1kg it’s lighter than the X1 Pro Max. Aiper quote up to 480 minutes, but that’s for skimming; they don’t publish a floor-cleaning runtime on the Australian page.

Don’t buy this if you have a normal suburban pool. It’s far more machine than 150m² of water needs.
Scuba X1 Pro Max
Out of stock on Aiper’s Australian store as published. When it’s back, it’s the strongest robot Aiper make alongside the V3 Ultra: 32,000 litres per hour (about 8,500 GPH), a 300m² rating, and it skims the surface as well as the floor, walls and waterline. It also carries the longest cover in Aiper’s Australian warranty table, 36 months. At 15kg it’s the heaviest to lift out. On a straightforward rectangular pool the X1 does the three surfaces that matter for far less.

Scuba S1 Pro
Aiper’s Australian page now shows it as phase out and out of stock. Its caterpillar treads were the reason to pick it for a steep transition into a deep end. Unless it comes back into stock, look at the X1.
Aiper sell package deals on their Australian store pairing the S1 or the X1 with the EcoSurfer S2, and the V3 with the S2 as the “Experts Duo”. The saving has moved around since this guide was first written, so compare the bundle with the two machines bought separately on the day.
Australian warranty, model by model
Aiper publish an Australian warranty table, and it sets the period by model: 12 months for the Scuba SE and Pilot X1, 24 months for the S1, S1 Pro, X1 and EcoSurfer S2, and 36 months for the X1 Pro Max. The period starts on the day the robot is delivered, and the terms follow the country it was delivered to, so buy the Australian unit.
The three 2026 machines, the S3, V3 and V3 Ultra, aren’t in that table yet. Their own Australian product pages say two, two and three years. We’d expect the table to catch up, but until it does, keep your receipt and a screenshot of the product page.
Two smaller things in the same policy. Filters count as consumables, and hooks, adapters, charging docks and the caddy are covered for 6 months. And the table pairs some names: if you see a Scuba N1 or N1 Pro, Aiper treat them as the S1 and S1 Pro.
Warranty periods are what each manufacturer publishes for Australia. Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply on top of them and are not limited to these periods.
Aiper or Dolphin?
The honest split is cord versus no cord, and it’s not really about the brands.
Dolphin, made by Maytronics, have built corded cleaners for decades. Maytronics Australia cover them for 24 months, with the motor unit at 12, and a corded machine runs as long as it’s plugged in.
What Aiper give you is no cord in the water. No float, no tangle, no walking around the pool untwisting a cable, no cord to trip over. If you’ve used a corded cleaner and the cord is the thing you hate, that’s the entire argument and it’s a good one.
The trade-off is the one every cordless product makes: the battery sets the service life. A sealed pack working in chlorinated water is a harder engineering problem than a plastic suction cleaner, and the category is young enough that long-term data is still being written. The X1 has about 57% more suction (6,600 GPH against 4,200), a 5-litre basket against 3.5 and a 200m² rating against 150. The S1 is lighter and, on Aiper’s figures, runs longer in Eco mode. Both clean the floor, walls and waterline and both carry 24 months in Australia.
Why does Aiper quote suction in different units?
Some pages use litres per hour and some gallons per hour. The X1’s 25,200 LPH is about 6,657 GPH, which Aiper’s own comparison table rounds to 6,600. Convert before you compare.
How long does an Aiper Scuba run on one charge?
SE 90 minutes. S1 up to 240 minutes in Eco on Aiper’s page (270 on the Amazon Australia listing title). X1 180. V3 180, or 210 in Eco. S3 180, or 240 in Eco. Match that to your pool, because a robot that needs two cycles means waiting for a recharge.
Can I leave an Aiper Scuba S1 in the pool between cleans?
For a while, in one mode. Aiper describe an S1 Eco setting that stays in the water and cleans the floor for 45 minutes every 48 hours for a week. Otherwise, take it out, rinse it and charge it.
Is the Aiper Scuba V3 covered by an Australian warranty?

Can I control an Aiper Scuba X1 from my phone while it’s in the pool?
Only with an add-on. Aiper say underwater use of the app needs their HydroComm Pro accessory, which gives real-time status and one-click retrieval. Without it, you control the X1 from the app before it goes in and after it comes out.
Do I still need to run my pool pump with an Aiper robot?
Yes. The pump filters and circulates the water, which is a different job from picking debris off the floor. A cordless cleaner means running the pump for filtration alone, which usually means fewer hours.
