Updated October 2026 12 cleaners compared

Twelve cordless robotic pool cleaners sold in Australia, compared on what each one cleans, from the floor to the water surface, and the Australian warranty where the maker publishes one.

Pick the robot for the pool you have, not the one in the ad. An above-ground pool with a vinyl liner, a tiled in-ground pool with a tanning ledge and a big freeform pool under a gum tree all want different machines. This list runs from a floor-only cleaner for small flat pools up to two machines that also clean the water surface, and every figure in it comes from the maker, or from the listing where a brand has no Australian site.

The short answer
WYBOT C1
Best overall

WYBOT C1

Floor, walls, waterline, steps and slopes in one cycle of up to 150 minutes, for pools up to 150m². Nothing essential left out.

Why this one →
Beatbot Sora 70 (2026 Version)
Best for large pools

Beatbot Sora 70 (P7)

Cleans the floor, walls, waterline and the water surface, and reaches ledges as shallow as about 20cm, across pools up to 300m².

Why this one →
Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro
Best premium

Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro

Cleans the floor, walls and waterline, skims the surface and clarifies the water, for pools up to 360m².

Why this one →

Every model here is cordless, which matters in an Australian backyard: no cable to run to a powerpoint near the pool edge, no trip hazard around the coping, and nothing to tangle around a ladder or the pool fence. All but the entry-level Scuba SE climb walls and clean the waterline as well as the floor. Where they part company is pool size against runtime, how shallow they can work, how much debris they hold, and whether they also clean the water surface. Two of the twelve do: the Sora 70 and the AquaSense 2 Pro.

Match the robot to the pool, not to the budget

Rated pool size, how shallow it can work and what it cleans decide whether a cleaner can do the job at all. Price only decides how comfortable the job is once it can.

Every figure is the maker’s own, from its Australian site where it publishes one. The Winny C2 has no Australian maker site we could find, so its row comes from the listing behind our button and says so. Where a maker publishes nothing, the table says “Not published” rather than guessing. Shallow water is the hardest column to fill honestly: most makers publish a maximum depth, which answers the wrong question, so we only mark a machine “Yes” where the maker names a shallow figure. Warranty periods are the ones the maker states on its Australian site or warranty table. Suction is quoted in each maker’s own unit (Aiper in litres or gallons an hour, Beatbot in gallons an hour) and neither says how it measures it, so we don’t rank the brands on it.

The twelve cleaners

Aiper Scuba SE robotic pool cleaner
Smallest, flat-floored pools

Aiper Scuba SE

  • 80m²rated pool size
  • 90minfull cycle
  • Floor onlyflat pools

The Scuba SE is the simplest machine in this guide, and Aiper is clear about what it leaves out. It cleans the floor. It doesn’t climb walls or scrub the waterline, and Aiper rates it for flat-floored pools of about 80 square metres (9m long). For a small above-ground pool with a level bottom that’s a sensible match. For anything with a deep end, a slope or a waterline problem, it’s the wrong tool rather than a simpler version of the right one.

Pros
  • Ninety minutes is a full cycle for a small pool
  • Parks itself when it finishes
  • Few moving parts, so less to go wrong
Cons
  • Floor only, no wall climbing, no waterline
  • Flat-floored pools only, on Aiper’s own rating
  • Rated to about 80m², so it runs out of pool quickly
  • Aiper’s shortest warranty here, at 12 months

Australian warranty: 12 months · Aiper Australia

WYBOT C1 robotic pool cleaner
Best overall

WYBOT C1

  • 150m²rated pool size
  • 150minper charge
  • Stepsand slopes too

The C1 is the simplest machine here that still does the whole pool. WYBOT now sells it as a “2026 Upgrade” and says it cleans floors, walls, waterlines, steps and slopes in pools up to 1,615 square feet (about 150m²), with up to 150 minutes a charge. It has five modes, runs S-shaped and N-shaped routes rather than bouncing around at random, and self-parks near the pool wall when it’s done. At 7.9kg it’s a manageable lift, and WYBOT backs it for two years.

Pros
  • Floor, walls, waterline, steps and slopes in one cycle
  • Plans a route instead of bouncing at random
  • Self-parks near the wall for an easy pick-up
  • Scheduled and updated from the WYBOT app
Cons
  • Rated to 150m², so a big pool needs a bigger machine
  • WYBOT publishes a maximum depth (3m) but no minimum, so a tanning ledge is a gamble
  • Doesn’t clean the water surface

Australian warranty: 24 months · WYBOT Australia

Aiper Scuba S1 robotic pool cleaner
Pools up to 150m²

Aiper Scuba S1

  • 240minin Eco mode
  • 3µmMicroMesh filter
  • Over-the-airfirmware updates

Aiper now sells the Scuba S1 as a “2026 Upgrade” and says more than 500,000 have sold worldwide, which is its own figure. It cleans floors, walls, waterlines and shallow areas, rated for pools of about 1,600 square feet (roughly 150m²). Aiper’s spec table gives it up to 180 minutes in the standard modes and up to 240 minutes in Eco. Its MicroMesh filter is rated to catch debris as small as 3 microns, and firmware updates arrive over the air.

Pros
  • Up to 240 minutes in Eco mode
  • Fine 3-micron MicroMesh filter as well as the main basket
  • Gets updates over the air
  • Two-year warranty on Aiper’s Australian table
Cons
  • The 240 minutes is Eco only; the other modes are rated at 180
  • No published shallow-water depth
  • The sales figure is Aiper’s own, not independently audited

Australian warranty: 24 months · Aiper Australia

WYBOT C2 robotic pool cleaner
The next step up

WYBOT C2

  • 200m²rated pool size
  • 180minin Eco mode
  • Twofilter layers

The C2 is the C1’s bigger sibling, also sold as a “2026 Upgrade”. WYBOT rates it for 200m² against the C1’s 150, with up to 180 minutes in Eco mode. It cleans floors, walls, waterline, step and slope, filters through a 180-micron layer plus a 10-micron one, and returns to the pool edge when it finishes. Cycles can be scheduled from the app, up to four times a week.

Pros
  • A third more rated pool size than the C1
  • Dual-layer filtering, down to 10 microns
  • Returns to the pool edge by itself
  • Same two-year warranty as the C1
Cons
  • 180 minutes is the Eco figure, against the C1’s 150
  • No published shallow-water depth
  • Only worth it over the C1 if your pool is over 150m²

Beatbot Sora 10 (P1) robotic pool cleaner
Entry to the Beatbot range

Beatbot Sora 10 (P1)

  • 300m²rated pool size
  • 5hrsof floor cleaning
  • 30cmshallow-water depth

The Sora 10 is Beatbot’s entry model. Beatbot rate it for pools up to 300m², with up to 5 hours of floor cleaning from a 7,800mAh battery and a 5-litre basket. It cleans the floor, walls, waterline and shallow areas as low as 12 inches (about 30cm), which covers many tanning ledges, then parks itself at the waterline so you’re not fishing it off the bottom. Beatbot quote 6,800 gallons an hour of suction, and say it handles saltwater pools below 5,000ppm of salt.

Pros
  • Shallow areas down to about 30cm, so many ledges are covered
  • Up to 5 hours of floor cleaning on a charge
  • 5-litre basket
  • Parks itself at the waterline
Cons
  • The Sora 30 reaches shallower water (about 20cm against 30cm) for the same 300m² and 5 hours
  • A 5-hour cycle is a long wait if you want the pool clean this afternoon
  • Doesn’t clean the water surface

Australian warranty: 24 months · Beatbot Australia

Winny C2 cordless robotic pool cleaner
Most control over the route

Winny C2

  • 200m²on its listing
  • 7cleaning modes
  • 6route patterns

We couldn’t find an Australian maker site for Winny, so everything here comes from the listing behind our button, sold by Winny’s own store. That listing rates the C2 for pools up to 200m²; its title says in-ground pools, while its description mentions above-ground too, so check your pool type against it. It lists seven modes, including waterline-only, wall-only and turbo floor, and an Expert Mode that lets you pick the route pattern: S, cross or star shapes on the floor, N, H or V up the walls. A 10-micron secondary filter can be fitted for turbo floor mode.

Pros
  • Seven modes, including waterline-only and wall-only
  • Expert Mode lets you choose the route pattern
  • Optional 10-micron filter for fine dust
  • Two years of cover, per its listing
Cons
  • No Australian maker site, so there’s nothing to check the listing against
  • No published runtime or shallow-water depth
  • More setup than a one-button robot

Australian warranty: no period published, and no Australian support contact

Aiper Scuba S3 robotic pool cleaner
Big battery, fine filter

Aiper Scuba S3

  • 240minin Eco mode
  • 10,400mAhbattery
  • 3-micronfiltration

Aiper rate the Scuba S3 at up to 240 minutes in Eco mode from a 10,400mAh battery, for pools up to 1,650 square feet (about 153m²). The Scuba S1 quotes the same 240 minutes in Eco, so on runtime alone there’s little between them. The S3 cleans floors, walls and the waterline as selectable modes, has a 3.5-litre basket with 3-micron filtering, and parks near the waterline when it’s finished. Aiper’s Australian store sells it with Add to cart and doesn’t state a dispatch time.

Pros
  • 10,400mAh battery, rated 240 minutes in Eco
  • 3-micron filtration catches fine particles, not just leaves
  • Floors, walls and waterline as separate modes
  • Parks at the waterline so retrieval is easy
Cons
  • The 240 minutes is Eco mode
  • Not on Aiper’s Australian warranty table, so ask what cover you get before you buy
  • No shallow-water or ledge rating published

Australian warranty: not listed in Aiper Australia’s warranty table

Beatbot Sora 30 (P3) robotic pool cleaner
Ledges without the surface cleaning

Beatbot Sora 30 (P3)

  • 20cmshallow platforms
  • 5Ldebris basket
  • 10,000mAhbattery

The Sora 30 is the Beatbot to look at if your pool has a tanning ledge and you don’t need surface cleaning. Beatbot say it reaches shallow platforms as low as 8 inches (about 20cm), against the Sora 10’s 12 inches, with the same 300m² rating, up to 5 hours of cleaning and a 5-litre basket. It runs from a 10,000mAh battery, floats to the surface when it’s done, and filters at 150 microns, and Beatbot say a 3-micron filter will be sold separately.

Pros
  • Shallow platforms down to about 20cm
  • 5-litre basket, so fewer mid-clean empties after a storm
  • Floats to the surface for a no-reach lift out
  • A 3-micron filter is due as a separate accessory
Cons
  • Same 300m² and 5 hours as the Sora 10
  • The Sora 70 reaches the same 20cm and also cleans the surface

Australian warranty: 24 months · Beatbot Australia

Aiper Scuba V3 robotic pool cleaner
Camera navigation

Aiper Scuba V3

  • 150m²rated pool size
  • Cameraobstacle mapping
  • Wirelesscharging dock

The Scuba V3 is the only Aiper on Aiper’s own comparison table with AI-powered features: it plans its route from what its camera sees rather than from bump sensors alone. Aiper rate it for 1,614 square feet (about 150m²), up to 180 minutes a charge or 210 in Eco, with a 3.5-litre top-load basket. It weighs 18.2 pounds (about 8.3kg), parks at the waterline and charges on a wireless dock. Aiper don’t publish a micron rating for its filter.

Pros
  • Maps obstacles with a camera rather than feeling its way around
  • Charges on a wireless dock, nothing to plug in
  • Up to 210 minutes in Eco
  • 3.5-litre top-load basket
Cons
  • Not on Aiper’s Australian warranty table, so ask what cover you get
  • No published filter micron rating
  • No published shallow-water depth

Australian warranty: not listed in Aiper Australia’s warranty table

Aiper Scuba X1 robotic pool cleaner
Long pools

Aiper Scuba X1

  • 200m²rated pool size
  • 20mpool length
  • 5Lbasket

Aiper rate the Scuba X1 for pools up to 2,150 square feet (200m²) and up to 20 metres long. It cleans floors, walls and the waterline for up to 180 minutes, holds 5 litres of debris, and Aiper’s comparison table gives it 6,600 gallons an hour of suction. It charges on a wireless dock and carries a two-year warranty on Aiper’s Australian table.

Pros
  • Rated for pools up to 20m long
  • 5-litre basket
  • Wireless charging dock, nothing to plug in
  • Two-year warranty
Cons
  • 180 minutes for a 200m² rating leaves little spare on a big pool
  • No published shallow-water depth
  • Doesn’t clean the water surface

Australian warranty: 24 months · Aiper Australia

Beatbot Sora 70 (P7) robotic pool cleaner
Best for large in-ground pools

Beatbot Sora 70 (P7)

  • Surfacecleaning too
  • 20cmshallow platforms
  • 6Ldebris basket

The Sora 70 is the Sora that also cleans the water surface. Beatbot say it cleans the surface, floor, walls, waterline and shallow platforms as low as 8 inches (about 20cm), using twin jets on the surface it calls JetPulse. It’s rated for pools up to 300m², with up to 5 hours of floor cleaning and up to 7 hours of surface cleaning from a 10,000mAh battery, a 6-litre basket, and it parks at the surface when it’s done. Beatbot back it for three years.

Pros
  • Cleans the water surface as well as the floor, walls and waterline
  • Shallow platforms down to about 20cm
  • 6-litre basket, the biggest any maker here publishes
  • Three-year warranty
Cons
  • More machine than a small or simply shaped pool needs
  • Beatbot quote the same 6,800 GPH suction as the Sora 10 and 30, so you’re paying for surface cleaning and the bigger basket, not more suction

Australian warranty: 36 months · Beatbot Australia

Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro robotic pool cleaner and skimmer
Best premium: cleans, skims and clarifies

Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro

  • 360m²rated pool size
  • 11hrsof surface cleaning
  • 13,400mAhbattery

The AquaSense 2 Pro is built as a cleaner and skimmer in one. Beatbot say it cleans the surface, waterline, floor and walls and adds a water-clarifying function, for pools with a bottom area up to 360 square metres, the biggest rating in this guide. It runs up to 11 hours of continuous surface cleaning from a 13,400mAh battery, works in 0.5 to 3 metres of water and up to 0.4m on a shallow end or Baja shelf, and weighs 11.38kg. Beatbot back it for three years.

Pros
  • Cleans and skims, and clarifies the water between cleans
  • The largest rated pool size in this guide
  • Largest battery here at 13,400mAh
  • Three-year warranty
Cons
  • 11.38kg to lift out of the pool
  • Unnecessary if you already run a separate skimmer or an automatic pool cover

Other robots Australians search for

Not in the twelve, and why

Aiper Scuba S1 Pro and Scuba X1 Pro Max. Both showed “Out of Stock” on Aiper’s Australian store when we looked, so they get no button. On Aiper’s own comparison table the X1 Pro Max also cleans the water surface, and is rated for pools up to 300m².

Dolphin (Maytronics) and Zodiac. Among the most searched pool-cleaner brands in Australia, but neither is in our catalogue. Maytronics publishes its cordless Dolphin Liberty range on its Australian site, rated for pools up to 10m (Liberty 200 and 400) and 15m (Liberty 600). Our cordless pool cleaner guide lists their figures.

Warranty periods are what each manufacturer publishes for Australia. Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply on top of them and are not limited to these periods.

What to look for in an Australian pool

Above-ground or in-ground

Check the pool type against the maker’s rating before anything else. The Scuba SE is rated for flat-floored pools, which suits many above-ground pools and very few in-ground ones. Aiper list concrete, fibreglass, vinyl and tiles as suitable surfaces for the S1, V3 and X1. If your liner is delicate, ask the maker about its brushes before you buy, and don’t drag a heavy unit across the seams when you lift it out.

Saltwater: check the salt limit

Salt chlorinators are common in Australian backyards, so ask for a figure rather than a yes. Beatbot publish one for the Sora 10 and Sora 30: saltwater pools are fine below 5,000ppm of salt. Check that against the salt level your chlorinator runs at. Where a maker doesn’t publish a limit, ask them before you buy.

Pool size against runtime

Match the maker’s rated pool size to your actual pool, not the other way around. A cleaner rated for 150m² working a 300m² pool will need two cycles and a recharge in between, or it will simply never reach the far end.

If your pool has a tanning ledge, check this specifically

Beatbot is the one maker here that names a shallow figure: the Sora 10 to about 30cm, the Sora 30 and Sora 70 to about 20cm, and the AquaSense 2 Pro to 0.4m on a shallow end or Baja shelf. The others publish a maximum depth at most, so treat their shallow-water ability as unknown.

Leaves or sand

If gums or a jacaranda drop on the pool, basket size matters more than a suction figure. On the makers’ own numbers: the Sora 70 holds 6 litres, the Sora 10, Sora 30 and Scuba X1 hold 5, the AquaSense 2 Pro 3.7, and the Scuba S1, S3 and V3 3.5. Fine sand and dust is the opposite problem. Beatbot pitch their 150-micron filter for everyday debris that won’t clog it, and a finer 3-micron one for low-debris conditions, and Aiper rate the S1’s MicroMesh filter and the S3’s filter to 3 microns. A heavy leaf load is also the case for a solar pool skimmer working alongside the floor cleaner.

Cleaner only, or cleaner and skimmer

Eleven of the twelve clean the floor, the walls and the waterline (the SE does the floor only). Two of them also clean the water surface: the Sora 70, with its twin-jet surface cleaning, and the AquaSense 2 Pro, which also clarifies the water. That’s worth having if you’re tired of netting leaves by hand, and unnecessary if you already run a separate skimmer or an automatic pool cover.

Frequently asked questions

Is a robotic pool cleaner worth it in Australia?

If you’re brushing walls and netting leaves through summer, usually yes, as long as it’s rated for your pool. Read three numbers before you buy: the rated pool size, what it cleans (floor only, or walls and waterline too) and the Australian warranty. A robot that can’t cover your pool in one charge, or can’t reach your ledge, isn’t worth it at any price.

Do robotic pool cleaners work in saltwater pools?

Most are sold for them, but ask for the limit. Beatbot publish one for the Sora 10 and Sora 30: below 5,000ppm of salt. Check that against your chlorinator’s setting, and ask the maker where a figure isn’t published.

Can a robotic pool cleaner climb the walls?

Eleven of the twelve here climb walls and clean the waterline as well as the floor. The Aiper Scuba SE is the exception: it cleans the floor only, on Aiper’s own rating.

How long does a cleaning cycle take?

On the makers’ figures, from 90 minutes for the Scuba SE to up to 5 hours of floor cleaning for the Beatbot Sora models, and up to 11 hours of surface cleaning for the AquaSense 2 Pro. Eco modes run longer than the standard figure: the Scuba S1 is 180 minutes standard and up to 240 in Eco.

Do I still need a pool skimmer if I buy a robotic cleaner?

Nine of the twelve here clean the floor, walls and waterline but not the surface, and the Scuba SE does the floor only. The Sora 70 and the AquaSense 2 Pro also clean the water surface. With any of the others, a separate skimmer still earns its keep under trees.

Will one of these clean a pool with a tanning ledge?

Only if the maker rates it for shallow water. Beatbot rate the Sora 10 to about 30cm, the Sora 30 and Sora 70 to about 20cm, and the AquaSense 2 Pro to 0.4m on a shelf. The other makers here don’t publish a shallow figure, so we don’t claim one for them.

Do pool robots remove algae?

They can pick up loose debris and fine particles (Aiper rate the S1’s MicroMesh filter to 3 microns), but algae is a water-chemistry problem first. Get the chlorine and pH right, brush, and then let the robot collect what’s left.

If you’re still deciding whether to cut the cord at all, our cordless pool cleaner guide compares suction, pressure, corded and cordless cleaners. Aiper make five of the twelve here, and our Aiper pool cleaner guide works through the range model by model. For leaves on the surface, the solar pool skimmer guide compares robotic skimmers, and the warranty guide sets out each brand’s Australian terms. You can also browse every pool cleaning robot we cover. And if the lawn is the next chore to hand over, our robot lawn mower guide does the same job for Australian blocks.
