Description

  • No boundary wire: The i108A works out where it is from satellite positioning (RTK) plus a camera, which Segway call VisionFence. You map the lawn in the Navimow app instead of pegging a wire round the edge.
  • Lawn size: Segway recommend it for lawns up to 800m². That’s a typical quarter-acre block with room to spare.
  • Slopes: Rated to a 30% gradient, which Segway put at 17°. That’s the gentlest slope rating of the wire-free mowers we list, so a genuinely steep block needs something else.
  • Obstacles: The camera is trained to recognise more than 150 kinds of common yard clutter, including garden furniture, toys, paths and lawn edges.
  • Cutting height: 20–60mm in the listing’s bullet points. The comparison table on the same listing says 5–9cm, so the two disagree. Check with Segway before you rely on either if you like your grass long.
  • Zones and schedules: Multiple zones, no-go areas and schedules from the app. It goes back to charge by itself and picks up where it left off.
  • Weather and weight: IPX6 rated, so rain and a hose-down are fine. About 11.4kg.
  • Don’t buy this if: your block has a real slope, or trees and a two-storey house block a lot of the sky over the lawn. Satellite positioning needs a clear view up, and the camera only goes so far to make up for it.
