Description
- Navigation: A 360° laser scanner (LiDAR) plus a camera, no boundary wire. Mammotion say it recognises more than 300 kinds of obstacle, from toys and pot plants to rocks.
- Lawn size: Rated for 1000m², and Mammotion say it can cover up to 1600m² in a day.
- Slopes: Rated to a 45% gradient, which Mammotion put at 24°.
- Tight spaces: Gets through paths as narrow as 55cm, so the gap down the side of the house is usually fine.
- Edges and drops: After mowing it does an extra lap of the boundary. Mammotion say it also detects drop-offs such as steps, retaining walls and pool edges.
- Cutting: Five pivoting blades on a 190mm disc. Cutting height is 20–60mm.
- Zones: Up to 10 separate, unconnected zones, with virtual walls and no-go areas.
- Battery: 6.1Ah. You can cap charging at, say, 80% to look after the battery, and set it to charge in off-peak hours.
- No mapping needed for a quick job: DropMow mode lets you put it down and mow straight away without saving a map.
- Don’t buy this if: you’re on a steep block. At 45% it’s a long way behind the LUBA models’ 80%.
