The ServiceBot Verdict
The Roomba 115 Combo is the entry point into a Roomba that empties itself. It vacuums and mops in the one pass, and the dock takes the dust off your hands for about three months at a time, which is the part you notice day to day.
What it doesn’t do is wash its own mop pad. You rinse that yourself. If that bothers you, the Plus 508 Combo has the AutoWash dock and does it for you. If it doesn’t, this covers the two jobs most homes want and stays out of the way.
Who it suits
Small to medium homes with sealed hard floors and a few rugs. iRobot rates one charge at about 83 square metres, so a large single-level place will need more than one run.
It keeps the mop off carpet on its own, and you can draw a No Mop Zone in the app for anything it gets wrong. The brushes are the anti-hair-wrap type, which is the spec that matters if you own a dog.
The dock bag is a 2.5 litre AllergenLock that seals as you pull it out, so emptying it isn’t a cloud of dust. iRobot puts that at four bag changes a year.
