Description
The robot dog most people picture when they search for one. It walks, barks, dances, blinks and spins its head, all from a handset, and there’s a touch sensor on its head so it reacts when a child pats it. It also records a sequence of moves and plays them back, which is about as close to programming as a six-year-old needs to get.
- Handset control, not an app: No phone needed, nothing to download, nobody arguing about screen time. For this age that’s a feature.
- Touch sensor on the head: Press touch on the controller, then pat the dog, and it responds.
- Records and repeats: Programme a run of actions and it plays them back.
- Four dances with music and lights: Plus walk, turn, patrol, demo, blink and head spin.
- 60 minutes of play, 4 hours to charge: fisca’s figures, on the included 3.7V 600mAh battery. Control range about 6 metres.
- 22 x 16 x 24cm, 748g: Bigger than it looks in photos. fisca list it for ages 6 and up.
Worth knowing before you buy: the dog charges over USB, but the controller needs two AAA batteries that aren’t in the box. Buy a pack at the same time or it sits there on the day. The other thing is the ratio: an hour of play costs four hours of charging, so this is a toy for one session at a time rather than a whole rainy afternoon. If you want something a child can pick up and put down all day, the walking puppy below runs on AAs you can swap in seconds.
