Description
The A1 mini is the A1 with a smaller bed and a smaller price. Same approach: it calibrates itself and prints cleanly without you having to learn a slicer first. The Combo adds the AMS lite for multi-colour printing.
- 180 x 180 x 180mm build volume: The thing to check before you buy anything else. Measure what you actually want to print. Plenty of popular models are designed around a 200mm plate and won’t fit without splitting.
- 500 mm/s toolhead, 10,000 mm/s² acceleration: The same speed figures Bambu quote for the full-size A1.
- All-metal hot end, 300°C: Stainless steel nozzle, hardened steel extruder gears. A 0.4mm nozzle is fitted, with 0.2, 0.6 and 0.8mm available.
- 80°C maximum bed temperature: Lower than the A1’s 100°C, and it’s the spec that decides what this machine can print.
- 28 mm³/s maximum hot end flow: Bambu’s figure, measured on ABS at 280°C.
- Built-in filament cutter, standard 1.75mm filament.
Worth knowing before you buy: Bambu group PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as the ideal materials here, and the 80°C bed is the reason. It’s a PLA and PETG printer, and a good one. If you already know you want ABS or ASA, skip it. Be honest with yourself about the 180mm bed too: the saving over the full-size A1 is real, and so is the day you find a model you can’t fit on it.
