4TB Portable External SSD (USB 3.0 Type-C)

Description

A pocket-sized solid state drive in a metal housing, connecting over USB 3.0 Type-C. No moving parts, which is the practical advantage over a spinning external hard drive if it is going to live in a bag.

• 4TB: Enough for a full machine backup or a large media library.
• Solid state: No platters or heads, so a knock is far less likely to end it.
• Metal housing: Sheds heat better than plastic and survives being carried around.
• Mac and Windows: Works with both, though you may want to reformat depending on which one you are backing up.

Worth checking before you buy: read the current listing carefully on capacity and sustained write speed. Very high capacities at low prices are an area where specifications on marketplace listings are not always what buyers expect.
