Description
This is not a pool cleaner. It’s a skimmer, and it does the opposite job to a Scuba — it floats on the surface collecting leaves and pollen before they sink to the floor, where a robotic cleaner then has to deal with them.
If you have gum trees or jacarandas over the pool, this is arguably the more useful machine of the two. Leaves that never reach the bottom don’t stain the surface, don’t clog the cleaner’s filter, and don’t get eaten by your pump basket.
- Solar powered: SolarSeeker keeps it topped up on the surface, so it runs continuously rather than in scheduled cycles.
- 35+ hours per charge: Enough to keep working through several overcast days.
- 150-micron filter with DebrisGuard: Fine enough for pollen, not just leaves.
- Automated edge cleaning: Works the waterline edge where debris collects, rather than drifting in the middle.
- Four anti-stranding bars and two optical sensors: Keeps it off the steps and out of corners.
- Adjustable chlorine dispenser: Doubles as a floating chlorinator if you want it to.
Don’t buy this if your pool sits in open sun with nothing overhanging it. With no leaf load, a skimmer has very little to collect and your existing pump basket will cope. It also will not touch the floor or walls — you still need a cleaner for that.
